Jochen Hahn took pole position for race three at Jarama this morning after setting a blistering pace to just beat Adam Lacko by just 0.081s!
Triple champion Hahn gained his revenge on his Buggyra International Racing System rival after Lacko had sealed pole yesterday and used it as the platform to win race one. Lacko will now have to find a way passed Hahn if he is to halt the German’s momentum and point’s advantage.
Hahn's early session 1m57.771s was the fastest lap set this weekend so far and just shaded Lacko's best effort of 1m57.789s.
Norbert Kiss placed third after a good lap in his Tankpool24 Racing Mercedes-Benz truck with a lap of 1m58.443s. The Hungarian led Rene Reinert who posted a tour good enough for fourth fastest in his Reinert Racing prepared MAN with a 1m58.841s.
Anthony Janiec set the fifth best time but the Frenchman will drop three places on the grid to eighth position after being penalised for an incident with Steffi Halm in race one yesterday afternoon.
Halm was just behind Janiec but in front of Sascha Lenz who qualified seventh and wasthe last of the drivers inside the two minute bracket, the German though will start sixth after Janiec’s penalty is applied.
Ellen Lohr in her Truck Sport Lutz Bernau MAN starts seventh ahead of Janiec after setting a best lap of 2m00.708s.
Starting a fine ninth on the grid will be Jose Fernando Rodrigues who has got quicker and quicker through the weekend and continues to impress many on his FIA ETRC debut.
Jiri Forman in the second of the Buggyra International Racing System Freightliner FatFox’s rounded out the top ten.
Reinert leads timed practice session
Rene Reinert took the fastest time in timed practice which set the top ten for the Super Pole session. The German his personal best time of the weekend of 1m59.460s early in the 20-minute session to head Anthony Janiec’s Lion Truck Racing MAN.
Janiec got to within 0.116s of Reinert’s best lap, while Norbert Kiss placed third. This trio battled closely in the races on Saturday and are expected to go at it again for the two events at the Spanish circuit today.
The winner of yesterday’s race two – Jochen Hahn was in fourth position ahead of Steffi Halm (Reinert Racing) and his title rival Adam Lacko (Buggyra International Racing System). Just 0.782s covered the top six in the timed practice session.
Sascha Lenz, Jiri Forman and Ellen Lohr filled out seventh, eighth and ninth places to make it through to Super Pole.
The fight to get in to the Super Pole session was typically close with Andre Kursim and Jiri Forman initially battling it out. The two youngsters were separated by just under 0.2s in the early stages of the second but ultimately it was only Forman who made it through.
Missing out on getting through to Super Pole was Andre Kursim (Tankpool24 Racing) who tried until the chequered flag to find a time that could beat 10th placed Jose Fernando Rodrigues. The Portuguese driver, who is competing in his first race of the season, put in a very impressive time of 2m01.747s. This was just over 0.2s faster than Kursim could manage.
