Here's what the top drivers of Saturday's races had to say at Misano once the dust settled.
Race 1
Jochen Hahn – Hahn Racing | IVECO
“It is a good start to the year. It was not easy as Antonio [Albacete] put big pressure on and we all had to do two starts as well, so it was tricky. Of course, it is nice to win at home for IVECO and I think all the team can be really happy and satisfied with the way it went in this race.”
Adam Lacko – Buggyra International Racing System | Freightliner
“I’m very happy with second place because I finished third on the road. After that, I was told by my manager that I’m second, so I’m very happy. If somebody had told me in the morning, after not taking part in the practice sessions, that I’ll be second, I wouldn’t have trusted him. I’d like to say thank you to the entire team.”
Race 2
Sascha Lenz – SL Trucksport | MAN
“I’m very happy at this very moment, it’s a great way to start the season. I’m really happy for the team as they worked really hard over the winter months. The truck is completely new, it’s a new chassis, new colour and now it’s finally the time when I’m capable of winning races. Tomorrow is a new day and we’ll see what we can do. There are good drivers in the championship with good trucks but I hope we can win again.”
Adam Lacko – Buggyra International Racing System | Freightliner
“To be second twice is absolutely perfect. I had a very good start on both occasions, especially in the second race when I went immediately from seventh to third. After that, I was waiting for Anthony [Janiec] to make a mistake and he eventually did (going through the diesel that was on the circuit) and I capitalised on that. I’m very happy.”
Anthony Janiec – Lion Truck Racing | MAN
“For me, it was a good race, first time in the championship this season and already a podium for the team. It started well, with a good first corner, but then Sascha was five seconds ahead. The final laps was a big fight with Jochen and Adam, I think it was spectacular for the people. All in all, I’m very happy with the race. Tomorrow, however, will be a bit tougher, as it will be very hot and these conditions are no good for my truck.”
