Jochen Hahn took another pole after a superb last lap push in his Hahn Racing IVECO....
Jochen Hahn savoured another pole position on Sunday at Zolder as he again left it late to seal the top spot in his Hahn Racing IVECO.
Hahn set a best time of 1m57.219s to beat Adam Lacko’s early session best of 1m57.6326 to secure pole. The German scorched around the Belgian track and although his time was slightly than yesterday’s best it was another mission accomplished for the four-times champion.
Lacko went one place better than yesterday’s third place start, while Norbert Kiss was 0.5 arrears of Lacko to head the second row of the grid.
Fourth place was Steffi Halm in her Team Schwabentruck entry, while yesterday’s front-row starter Antonio Albacete was disappointed with fifth.
A trio of German drivers placed from sixth to eighth with Andre Kursim, Sascha Lenz and Rene Reinert all closely matched.
Trucksport Lutz Bernau driver Luis Recuenco starts from ninth position and the top GRAMMER TRUCK CUP entry.
Completing the top ten will be former Zolder race winner Jose Rodrigues in his Reboconort MAN.
Warm sunshine and ideal track conditions are expected for today’s races which are scheduled to begin at 13.50 and 16.05 local time.
Hahn Heads Timed Practice Too
Hahn also topped the timing screens in the timed practice session which made up the top ten in Super Pole.
The reigning champion lapped in 1m57.978s to comfortably head Adam Lacko’s best of 1m58.331s.
Lacko was just ahead of Steffi Halm and Andre Kursim with the three drivers separated by just over 0.1s.
Norbert Kiss and Sascha Lenz placed fifth and sixth respectively in their Tankpool24 Racing Mercedes-Benz and SL Trucksport30 MAN entries.
Jose Rodrigues, Rene Reinert and Antonio Albacete filled out places seven to nine, while Luis Recuenco was again the only GRAMMER TRUCK CUP category driver to make it in to the top ten and thus the Super Pole session.
Just missing out on Super Pole was David Jenkins, and it was by the tiniest of margins, just 0.084s. The British driver, who is making his 2019 FIA ETRC debut this weekend saw his first lap time deletaed due to a track limit violation.
Jamie Anderson also saw one of his quick laps cancelled due to track limit violations and the British driver will start from third in the GRAMMER TRUCK CUP category.
Points leader Oly Janes had a tough session and his best time was only good enough for sixth in class behind Fabio Citignola in fourth and Terry Gibbon in fifth.
