Get the very latest from the main protagonists after race one at Nurburgring
1st – Jochen Hahn
A tremendous win, it all looked under control, how was it for you?
“Well I have a good feeling for the track and the truck feels good and yes I found good speed for this race. But you asked me about the championship points and I now lead, but at the moment it is too early to say about this as before the race Adam (Lacko) was two points before me and now I’m three points ahead of him and it is a good fight, but it is all good and close.
“I am very happy today, happy with this, happy to be in Germany with our friends, our family and our partners and to be here on the middle step of the podium.
2nd – Adam Lacko
Good points for you and your championship quest. Close at the start, but then the gap seemed to stretch out a bit.
“Second place today was the maximum, Jochen (Hahn) was very, very fast. I tried to catch him. We must now look to try to find some more speed and get him either in race two today, or maybe tomorrow.”
3rd – Steffi Halm
Your excellent season continues with third on the podium, after qualifying in third place, how was race one out there today?
“Yes, it was perfect. Yesterday we finished third in the qualifying session with my best result in qualifying. I had a brilliant start behind Jochen (Hahn) in front, but I just couldn’t find a way by Adam (Lacko) at the start. I tried to keep my line then to keep Norbert (Kiss) behind me and this worked, so it was perfect and the track was perfect. I just have to keep doing the driving, but the truck is excellent and thanks to the mechanics and team.”
Anthony Janiec – 6th after ferocious battle with Gerd Korber
“We had some good fighting with Gerd (Körber), which was a good, clean fight. He has a lot of experience and for me is one of the best drivers. I could see him in my mirrors for the whole race and it was good for the spectators here.
“It was a good result for me, to get sixth for the championship.”
